So coincidentially, the weekend after Joyce went to Austin, my family, Peter and I went too. Austin is one of my favorites cities to visit because two of my favourite places are there. A Winery and a BBQ place.
First we went to Duchman Family Winery. It is in Driftwood Texas and we go there everytime we go to Austin, even if it is a little out of our way. Not only is their wine very good, but the view and weather up there are always very beautiful. I’ll insert some pictures here.
These are the grapevines that can be seen as you drive in.
Then you can walk up to the winery where they do their tastings 
And where they keep their wine. 
Then we like to sit outside and sip of some wine, and enjoy the gentle breeze
Of course after tasting some of their new wines we can’t help ourselves and we buy some our favourites.
Duchman was the first winery we ever visited and have become a little bit of wine enthusiasts since. We try to visit wineries within driving distance from us, but have yet found one that we enjoyed as much as Duchman. If You are ever in the area, go visit them, you will not regret it. We were very sad Joyce could not join us, but we will come back soon!
After Duchman we drove to The Saltlick .
They have THE BEST BBQ. Everything they serve here is great, but my favourite is the brisket plate.
The mashed potatoes and coleslaw are just as good as the brisket and the bbq sauce is great over everything. lol
Going to Austin is always a highlight for me, and I hope we can go again sometime soon. I’m always ready to go back the moment we leave.
